Customised Quilts and Throws through the seasons

As we drift from summer into the autumn season, now is the time to begin thinking about how we can re-modernise our bedrooms by changing our customised quilts and throws ready to reflect the change in season.

If you have been used to a light summer king size quilted throw over the last few months, it may be time for a change! With the evenings getting cooler, snuggling under a thicker custom quilted throw draped over your bed will be perfect for those cosy evenings in. Here at Cush, Cush we use a 5oz medium thickness wadding for all our customised quilts and throws but use different fabrics to adjust the thickness and the texture of the final piece depending on our customer’s requirements.

For spring / summer customised quilts and throws, we recommend a lighter fabric – a silk which is light weight is perfect! Choose a silk fabric in lighter soft pastel shades, to offer a light yet chick look for your bedroom throughout the summer.  In contrast, during the autumn and winter months, we would recommend a heavier fabric such as a soft velvet which is thick and luxurious. Why not choose your velvet in a deeper or darker colour shade to reflect the autumn and winter seasons?
